Romanesque Interpretation Center

The Romanesque Interpretation Center (CIR) is located in Lousada. It is the starting point to start the journey of discovery of the Route of the Romanesque. It has an exhibition area of ​​about 650 square meters, spread over a large central atrium and six themed rooms: Territory and Training of Portugal; Medieval Society; The Romanesque; The Builders; Symbolism and Color; Monuments through the Ages. 

The Romanesque Route is a tourist-cultural project that currently brings together 58 monuments and two interpretation centers, spread over 12 municipalities in the Sousa, Douro and Tâmega valleys (Amarante, Baião, Castelo de Paiva, Celorico de Basto, Cinfães, Felgueiras, Lousada, Marco de Canaveses, Paços de Ferreira, Paredes, Penafiel and Resende), in the North of Portugal.
